After watching his side share the spoils against a struggling Lazio outfit, new Siena coach Marco Baroni remained happy with a point as he drew positives from the Robur’s improved performance.
“It was important to put in a performance today and we did that,” Baroni declared to SkySport.
“We got something against a big side, even if Lazio are in difficulty at this moment. For this we are happy with the result today and it is a good starting point going forward.”
The former Primavera coach was then probed as to whether Fernando Muslera was lucky to have a red card rescinded after having appeared to have made contact with Massimo Maccarone outside the box.
“I have only just arrived here and I certainly don’t want to get into any controversy over the referees. I have far more pressing matters to think about with regards to getting this team firing again.
“We need to change something. I have always respected Marco Giampaolo for the great work he has done here. But I am ready to look, watch, and study what needs be done, to help get the side off the bottom of the standings.”
